Sinopsis Buku

E-Book Speech Act and Translation Strategy Through Pragmatic Lens

Language is an instrument of social communication through which individuals can both convey and receive feedback on their thoughts, feelings, and desires. As it is considered a practical and effective means of communication, mass media is frequently employed by individuals in the present day. An example of such a medium is the application of billboards or banners, which function as textual media designed to distribute information. Stretched fabric emblazoned with slogans, propaganda, or news intended for public dissemination constitutes a banner.

When individuals interact and communicate in order to convey something linguistically related, speech events transpire. Distinction exists between the conventions of spoken and written language; for instance, the use of spoken language in addresses and written discourse varies in the realm of politics. Political language is characterized by distinctive features, often consisting of messages or symbols that symbolize the viewpoint of the speaker. In order to impart written messages that captivate readers, political language is employed. In an effort to gain public support, politicians employ political billboards as a means to exert influence over the public.

Therefore, through this book, a discussion on speech act translation for students will be presented. Not only that, this book will also elaborate on the importance of the accuracy and precision of speech act translation for students in order to deliver the legislative candidates’ messages well.
