About
Joirez Gracia Nayoan holds a Master of Speech and Language Pathology (MSLP) from the University of Canterbury (UC), Christchurch, New Zealand, and is a Registered Member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA). In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Education in Montessori Early Childhood Teaching from Auckland University of Technology (AUT), Auckland, New Zealand. Her professional focus includes a strong specialization in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), with a demonstrated ability to assess and implement AAC strategies that promote meaningful communication, enriching social interactions, and fostering independence for individuals with communication challenges. She started at Chrysallis Pediatric Development Facility in March 2019. At Chrysallis, Joirez is actively engaged in advocacy and education within the wider community. She is committed to raising awareness among parents, educators, therapists, and allied professionals about the critical role of AAC in supporting individuals with Complex Communication Needs (CCN). Her work is driven by a vision to enhance functional communication and improve quality of life, championing inclusion and empowerment within a neurodiverse society.
