Prof. Dr. Syarifuddin Dollah, M.Pd. earned his Bachelor’s Degree (Drs.) from Universitas Negeri Makassar in 1988, followed by a Master of Education (M.Pd.) from Universitas Negeri Malang in 1996. He completed his doctoral studies (Dr.) at Universitas Hasanuddin in 2006. As a seasoned scholar in English Language Education, his fields of specialization include Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and Cross-Cultural Communication. He has published in these domains, including co-authorship on studies of English essay writing preferences and EFL teacher competence in Indonesian classrooms. Holding the functional academic rank of Professor, he serves as a full-time faculty member in the English Department at Universitas Negeri Makassar—particularly engaged in doctoral education (Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris S-3 Program). He has authored and published numerous articles in reputable international journals indexed by Scopus as well as nationally accredited SINTA journals. Additionally, he is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Technology in Language Pedagogy (JTechLP) at UNM. Between 2015 and 2019, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Language and Literature (FBS) at UNM, where he oversaw significant infrastructural and administrative reforms.
